After a year and a day of incarceration due to his attempt to purchase illegal guns, TI finally gave a stellar comeback performance.
From his upcoming movie, Takers, the soundtrack “Yeah Ya Know” gave us chills.
There were also great performances by other artists including Chris Brown’s heartfelt (and teary-eyed) tribute to Michael Jackson, Usher’s white-hot performance and many more. But when you’re TI, you steal the show. And speaking of stealing the show, why not steal a whole season with TI’s clothing line: A King Of Oneself (AKOO). The King of the South is on the roll promoting a lot of things these days. He has an album coming up, a clothing line -AKOO, that is, which will launch its Fall / Winter 2010 collection soon, and also a major motion picture, “Takers” on the pipeline. And don’t forget about the secret upcoming wedding!

The King of the South, Clifford Harris a.k.a. TI, sat down with CNN’s Larry King last night on his very first interview since being released from his 1 year and 1 day sentence. As you know, Tip was imprisoned last year under illegal purchase of weapons charges and was released to a halfway house in Atlanta in December 2009 before finally announced as a free man back in March. In case you haven’t noticed, Larry King didn’t use his usual intimidating ‘journo’ style when talking to Tip. Guess he knew that there’s no messing with Tip when it comes to what’s important in his life: fiancee Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, his kids and Grand Hustle business.
TI talked about his prison time, early career, and basically re-introduced himself to his fans. The former straight-A student had troubles in his past, but now is a new beginning. Tip is currently working on his new upcoming abum: “King Uncaged”.

Being away in prison doesn’t mean TI is off the list of some of the biggest awards. Take MTV Video Music Awards, which will be held in September 13, 2009. TI’s “Live Your Life” video sits among the nominees of the Best Male Video Award, along with Eminem’s “We Made You”, Jay-Z’s “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)”, Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent” and Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown”.
This is TI’s fourth consecutive Best Male nomination on the MTV Video Music Awards, and he never won a Moonman in any category before, unlike Eminem who snagged the Best Male Video Award for “The Real Slim Shady” in 2000 and “Without Me” in 2002. Kanye West has also won the Best Male Video award for his 2005 song: “Jesus Walks”. Tip, Jay-Z and Ne-Yo have been nominated to get the Moonman, however none of the three have won the category just yet.

It’s already 3 months since TI went to prison and we bet you miss the guy like mad. Thank goodness the rapper has prepared stuff for his fans prior to doing his time, so we all won’t miss him that much. Here’s his collaboration with John Legend in the song titled “Slide Show”, from his album “Paper Trail”.

Here’s some music of the day, TI’s “Whatever You Like” got remixed by a girl named Anya Marina. Anya is an indie musician who has been touring with Jason Mraz for the past year. She put a new flavor to TI’s hit “Whatever You Like” and you can check it out right here.

For those of you who have waited for this video, we’re happy to share the newest video of “Remember Me” which was released two days ago.
The good news is, the official video is out and it’s great. The not-so-good news is that you won’t be able to get your hands on those re-release edition of TI’s album: Paper Trail (Paper Trail – Case Closed). The supposedly-released disc includes “Live Your Life” -Witih Rihanna, “Dead and Gone” -with Justin Timberlake and “Swagga Like Us”.
According to Atlantic reps, the songs will be released digitally instead.
Now this is a sentence from DJ Drama about TI that makes fans everywhere wonder: will TI really come home sooner than his supposedly 366 days sentence?
In an interview with Mr. Peter Parker show, DJ Drama revealed that TI will come home ’sooner than later’. Here’s the interview:
DJ Drama stated:
“Nah, I haven’t talked to Tip directly. But I was up at the office the other day and he’s good. There were some rumors going on about some sickness or something that happened at the prison but all that’s false, I know he’s good. He’s getting all the letters people are writing him and everything. Tiny has been up there multiple times even though he says he don’t want nobody to come up and see him. I’m curious though, I definitely wanna know his reaction to the Michael Jackson situation, him passing and even in general you know. You think about all of the people locked up feeling the same way. Tip is good. He’ll be home sooner than later. You know what I mean, get right back to work.”
That’s a pretty bold statement as TI is due to be released in 2010.
Anyway, while waiting for TI’s official release from prison, there’s a good news. TI’s AKOO Clothing Line is on a major discount at DrJays. Here are some of the newest AKOO items on discount:
