Rapper TI received his prison sentence last Friday, March 27, and is expected to report to prison by May 19, 2009. He was sentenced to 366 days behind bars and in addition, Tip received 3 years supervised release. Tip pleaded guilty last March after he got arrested for trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers in 2007, in between his rehearsal at BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta. TI was also charged for unlawful possession of machine guns and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. So far, Tip has completed about 1,000 community service hours out of 1,500 through his public appearances to speak to the youth and also his MTV reality series “TI’s Road to Redemption”.
