TI Rallies For Stopping Gun Violence

Author: AkooEditor  //  Category: Daily Akoo Swagger, TI News

As we previously mentioned, TI joined forces with Rev. Al Sharpton in the Anti Gun and Violence Rally, May 11th, 2009 in New York City.  MTV got it the press conference and the start of the rally covered.

The rally is part of TI’s 1,000 hours of community service prior to entering jail for 366 days.  Tip has recently completed a gripping reality series “Road To Redemption” on MTV, also as a part of his 1,000 hours of community service.  TI was busted in 2007 for buying machine illegal guns and silencers before the BET show and have been sentenced to 1,000 hours of community service and 366 days in the clinker.  Since his sentence, TI has been remorseful and follows his passion to be an anti-violence advocate.  This year alone, he already traveled to many states and speaking in schools to the youth against violence.  He even has a new motto and it’s called: “Bury Da Beef”.

In the press conference, TI stated:

“I carried guns and swung dope as a 13-year-old.  I had my best friend taken away from me through guns. I was so hurt from the loss of his life, I didn’t take notice to the knowledge that I still had mine.”

Rev. Al Sharpton also expressed his admiration to Tip:

“What else could somebody do to be a bigger credit to their community than to not take the easy way out.”

Tip, Ja Rule and Rev. Sharpton marched with activists to the spot where a kid was shot dead in a May 3rd street fight, right on W. 14 St. in Harlem.

Only TI can look great while doing good and we’ve been observing that never-seen-before jacket.  We’re guessing it will come out soon.  The t-shirt he’s wearing is also not available yet.  However, we got some cool suggestions for you.  It seems that white on white is in so here are our picks:

AKOO Case Stacker Jacket, $46.99

AKOO Illusion Tee, $34.00
