Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I. earned Song of the Year award at last Friday’s 2013 Soul Train Awards. The said event is meant to honor soulful artists, including Hip Hop icons.
The song broke the record for the highest radio audience ever, although it recently caused some controversy. It should be recalled that Thicke sued Marvin Gaye’s family due to lawsuit threats that stemmed from Blurred Lines.
Aside from receiving an award, T.I. performed at the 2013 Soul Train Awards. Other performances include Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, Warren G. Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, and Big Daddy Kane.
