TI On His Upcoming Movie: “Takers”

As you might probably know, TI is producing a movie previously called “Bone Deep” (now “Takers”) starring Chris Brown, TI, Idris Elba, Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Michael Ealy, Hayden Christensen, Zoe Saldana and Jay Hernandez. Tip talked to SOHH.com about the name change. “It’s called Takers, now. Well, you know, there were mixed emotions about the title, Bone Deep. There were mixed reviews.” The original title, Bone Deep has been in the spotlight for its sexual and pornographic connotations, and we say Tip’s approval for the name change is one smart move.
Takers tells the story about a group of criminals who find their $20 million plan interrupted by a hard-boiled detective (Dillon). Walker stars as the leader of the bank robbers; Christensen is a newbie detective.
The movie has also made the news when there are rumors on the internet about Chris Brown’s deletion from the movie promo due to his alleged assault of Rihanna. This means the movie’s promotion will use TI as the centerpiece, even though he’s probably still gonna be in prison by the time the film is released in January 2010. Tip commented about Chris Brown’s deletion from the promo, “I can’t confirm Brown being dropped. As the producer of the film I haven’t been approached or confronted with that as being a possibility. I won’t speak to that fact because I don’t know it to be true.”
