It will only be a month away before our guy T.I. also known by his real name Clifford Harris is sent to prison from his federal gun charges a year ago. And he is indeed asking for someone else’s help and this someone is nothing more than our very own Martha Stewart whom T.I. also just found out that she also served the same sentence as she had. Martha Stewart served five months in prison in 2004 for insider trading.
“Martha, if you can give me some pointers on how to pass my time in prison, I am open,” T.I. told Extra. The “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life” hitmaker also adds, “It didn’t hurt Martha Stewart much. We have the same exact sentence, if I’m not mistaken. She’s still doing pretty well for herself… I imagine my musical career would be as good or better than it was when I left.”
After being addressed as to how he felt about his one year sentence in jail, T.I. said that the person he feared the most is God and no one else and that he is ready to put everything behind once he gets out. He also mentioned that he issue has indeed put a significant concern in his mind but as he said, “Nothing that time can’t heal.”
Rapper and actor T.I. will be set to perform a line of concerts before his big day on March 27. Be sure to catch him and several more appearances of his concerts as he tries to take one last bow before he closes the door on this issue and opens up a new and better T.I.
T.I.’s Road to Redemption Premieres Tuesday February 10, 9pm Local on MTV
Publicity stunt or genuine concern?
Tonight on MTV is the premiere of T.I.’s new reality-documentary “Road to Redemption”. The show follows him in 2008 fulfilling his court-ordered community service in which he attempts to impact the lives of seven troubled youths. During this period, he is also anxiously awaiting sentencing for his conviction of illegal weapons possession.
The AKOO designer is given the opportunity to right his wrongs by actively participating in the kids lives, motivating them, getting involved and attempting to get back on track.
It is hard not to be skeptical of yet another reality show. The basic principle is inspiring but the need for televised, on camera recognition, is over-rated and overdone. Tonight we will see if this is a purposeful, meaningful glimpse into TI’s life and his need to make a difference or if it will be yet another scripted “reality” show of celeb self-promotion taking up empty television time.
Surprise, surprise!!! It’s been a year since Outkast’s Big Boi joined the ranks of TI’s Grand Hustle Management and he is already making his presence felt.
With the behind-the-lens talent of legendary photographer Zack Wolfe, who’s list of hip hop credits include Lil Wayne, Prose, TI and Gorilla Zoe, Big Boi is in good hands for the upcoming AKOO campaign. It which features Big Boi in classic black and white images, decked out in T.I.’s label which stands for “A King of Oneself”.
AKOO, which launched September 2008, is the creation of T.I. and Grand Hustle Entertainment. This ad campaign was shot in Big Boi’s hometown of Atlanta, GA with on-set cameos of TI alongside producers Jim Jonsin and Drumma Boi.
Look out for singer/ songwriters and fellow Grand Hustle label artists Sean Garrett and The Dream, who will also be seen in upcoming campaign ads. There are some big names attached to the launch of this line…hopefully all expectations will be met and who knows, maybe a womenswear will be in the works. You know Tip will not neglect the ladies for long!

It looks like Lil Wayne and T.I. will showcase the battle for this year’s Best Rap Album at the 51st Grammy Awards with their respective albums Tha Carter III and Paper Trail.
Jay-Z’s American Gangster and Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool and Nas’ Untitled project are just few of the competing rappers vying for the title. However, as MTV News interviewed experts last week, most of them predicted that Southern lyricists T.I. and Lil Wayne will both be standing head on in the final round.
Leah Greenblatt from Entertainment Weekly announced “”It’s a sure thing [Lil Wayne will] take all the rap awards he’s nominated for this year.” On the other hand, Hot 97 news director Minya Oh (a.k.a. Miss Info) stated “I think that T.I. should win, because he has a solid album, a huge presence and a great story.”
In the end, there can only be one winner. In your opinion, who will win this year’s Best Rap Album at the Grammy? Vote now!
TI (real name: Clifford Harris) was handing out toys to the kids earlier this week to students at the Booker T. Washington Center in Macon, Georgia. They almost lost their local community center this month due to lack of funding.
He spoke on the importance of the center and participating in extracurricular activities to stay out of trouble. Although TI’s required to do a cool 1000 hours of community service, he’s always been about serving others. He has his own charity called the Grand Hustle K.I.N.G Foundation.
Check TI handling out goodies to the little ones. Looks like happy times for everyone there.
TI was recently on the cover of Rap-Up magazine and he spoke on some strong subjects including his pending jail sentence, Kanye West, and his children dealing with him going away for a year.
On how his children are going to deal with his time in prison: “My oldest is 12—she understands. She’s strong and smart. The three weeks I was in, before I got to come home, she said to me, ‘Don’t worry. I’ll hold things down ’til you get back.’ I’m more worried about how my boys are going to deal.”
On what it would take for him to be conceited like Kanye West: “Selling a billion. At about a billion, I think I’d be pretty hard to deal with.”
On winning awards: “No disrespect to Kanye, but that kinda stuff just don’t mean nothing to me. Whether or not I win an award, I mean that’s nice, but at the end of the day I understand that I’m a man. What being a man means to me is not defined by an award or an amount of records sold.”

Like the Akoo shirt TIP is wearing on the cover,,so what? You can’t get it! Not just yet, but check out our Akoo Clothing Store for now and we will keep you updated for when it drops.
Mr. Akoo himself recently graced the cover of Black Men’s Magazine. Unfortunately he didn’t rock any Akoo in the photoshoot but he still came out with much swagger nonetheless. Check out the photos below:
As you all know it was a lot of controversy over the track “Swagga Like Us” from TI’s latest Album “Paper Trail” because of the artist on the track, which featured Jay-Z, Kanye, TI, and Lil Wayne.
Jim Jones had a few words to say about TI and the others that were on the track and how some of them have no swag and he belonged on the track. He felt strong about his words and went ahead and made a remix of the song featuring himself, Lil Wayne, Noe and Twista.
So why not let the fans speak on the issue so we can settle this once for all.
Who are your top Five Rappers when it comes to swagger and over all style? (I will start off with my top picks in the comment area)
I’m pretty sure many of you are familiar with T.I.’s friend being murdered after a concert about two years ago. Many are saying TI testifying against the man who killed his friend is going against the codes of the streets which is Snitches get Stitches or simply NO SNITCHING.
I for one think what he did was honorable and the right thing considering the situation and it being his best friend.
