We know you’re probably salivating over it right now, but while waiting for it to be available at your favorite online retailer, why don’t we see some AKOO stuff that would surely go real well and look real fresh with this jacket. Our favorite blogger, Sandra Rose, brought great news today as she said that rapper TI who’s currently still in prison on illegal weapon possession charges, will be released to an Atlanta halfway house to serve out the remainder of his sentence after the New Year.
TI is originally scheduled to be released on May 26th, 2010 after the 12 month and 1 day sentence, but there have been talks about early release since a couple of weeks ago. That is why we think it’s great news that Tip will soon be back in Atlanta, although will still be kept in a halfway house, which rules will be a bit more relaxed compared to the prison. Word is, he might even be allowed to work at the Grand Hustle offices during the day and such.
That ain’t the only good news today. Various blogs and news sites also reported that the King of The south still reigns with his supremacy when Billboard announced their completed year-end and decade recap lists. TI won the Top Hot Songs Artist of 2009, and that’s for his four top 5 singles, “Whatever You Like”, “Swagga Like Us,” “Live Your Life,” and “Dead and Gone”, off 2008’s double platinum Paper Trail album.
If that doesn’t make you want TI to come back to ATL sooner, we don’t know what will. Prepare to greet Tip in style as he comes back, in cool AKOO gear. Here are some ideas:

Remember that rapper TI was sentenced for 366 days (read: one year and one day)? Well, MTV.com reported that the King of the South could be released earlier. Here’s an excerpt of the GREAT news:
Though he was sentenced to a year and a day, authorities said before his incarceration that he is eligible for a 15 percent “good time” credit, which could shave almost 55 days off his sentence. In that best-case scenario, he could be released in early April.
“He’s doing real good and he’s ready to come on home,” said Tiny, who expected that T.I. would be home “somewhere in the top of the year.” The rapper’s lawyer could not be reached at press time for comment on when he thought T.I. might be released.

Tiny recently opened up about her wedding plans with TI, post-prison, and it still gives us all a great feeling to hear that. Meanwhile, 24HourHipHop reported that they received an email from one of their reader who happens to have a family member who’s TI’s fellow inmate in prison. The fan tells us that Tip is doing real well in the clink. Here’s the email:
Whats good? My cousin jason is locked up with t.i. and I wanted to drop a line so you could get it out to the world that T.i. is more than okay in prison. My cuz told me in the beginning he only had one fight but after that it has been smooth sailing and he has either made cool with all the others or spreads his money around so either way it’s all good. My cuz said one time he even let him use some of his phone time when his ran out and that overall Tip is a cool humble dude. Just let the people know that.
And to end the string of good news, we bring you our favorite AKOO stuff of the day. Don’t know about you, but for us, good news makes us want to look good too.
So the question on every TI & Tiny fan is answered. Remember when we reported about their ’secret wedding’ earlier this year just before Tip went to jail? Well enough of empty speculations. There IS a wedding plan after all after Tip’s release in 2010 and Tiny just confirmed it via an interview with XXL Mag:
“Sometime [next] year, but we can’t really give a date yet because we have to find out exactly when Tip is coming home. We’ll have to just plan around that, but I envision a fairy tale wedding. [As far as music together,] well, we did one song and we just never really got back in the studio, but I can’t say that you won’t hear anything in the future. I don’t want to give it out yet, I want to hold it to make sure we go in that direction. We have several things that we’re talking about doing together, so we’ll see how that works out.”
After all these years of engagement, we’re excited to hear this! Any thoughts on this very happy news, people?
