Looks like it’s not only his movie, Takers, which had to undergo some rescheduling, TI’s upcoming album, King Uncaged, is also experiencing schedule alterations. Over the weekend, online retailer, Amazon.com has inked a new release date for the album, from August 17th pushed back to September 28th.
There’s still no word from Tip nor his label about the rescheduled release of the album. King Uncaged will be his first post-prison album after serving a year and a day for the federal gun possession charges. Well, the album might be quite a long wait, but we know one thing that requires zero waiting: getting TI’s AKOO Clothing line fly swagger. Today’s hot item is…
Happy 4th of July, everybody! Hope you had a blast on the weekend. Our man TI is has also been attending fun events last weekend, such as Trey Songz’s Toast to Women at Carol’s Daughter Pop Up Store on July 3, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The King of the South was also seen at the 2010 Essence Music Festival at the Louisiana Superdome, July 4, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
So what does TI wear on his down time? Not anymore a trivial question about that. Check his style and copy immediately!
Um yes, good thing that dude from American Idol wasn’t around because he would hate TI’s dropped pants which reveals his boxers. To us, it’s sexy!
Another TI laid-back look. Polo shirt-clad, sunglasses fab and baseball cap as a finishing touch. Nice.
Here’s a laid-back t-shirt for you to chill this weekend, straight from his clothing line, AKOO.
Remember how he had to go away to prison due to his attempt to purchase guns? Well, TI was recently interviewed by Fuse TV and he stated that he still wishes he still has his right to bear arms.
“As long as there are other criminals out there who have them, then I definitely wish that I had my second amendment right.”
However, TI shares his prison experience as well. We think his definition of jail and prison is spot on.
“But you know I understand that I live in America and the law in America states that if you’re a felon, that you lose that second amendment right to bear arms. After I’m done with, you know what I’m saying, the conditions of my sentence, I’ll be able to vote…I didn’t go in there with the thought that I would be treated any differently, you know, any better. You know, I just went in there prepared to do what I had to do to get on back on up out of there…I’ve been to jail before, it was my first time in prison. Prison is for people, prison you actually be around people who been there for 10s, 15s, 20s of year. Jail is where you stay before you go to court you know for maybe 6, 8, 9 months, 12 months at a time.”
So there’s no more secrets on what have happened in jail. Catch the interview on July 6th on Fuse TV. Speaking of secrets, here’s a t-shirt from TI’s AKOO clothing line that we feel speaks to all of us.
So TI appeared as Chelsea Lately’s guest recently and things got really awkward. Chelsea flirted heavily -thank goodness she was funny, because if she weren’t, it would come across as annoying.
But our man Tip is adorable as always. He even joked when asked about his upcoming wedding with Tiny, saying that they were already married, divorced and that Tiny took everything. He also highlighted his recent gig: becoming the face and creating an exclusive V.S.O.P. blend for Remy Martin and also mentioned his thriving clothing line, AKOO, which is doing really well on its second season.
Speaking of AKOO’s second season collection, here are some of our favorites:
In our hotness lineup today is the Kid Rock who thinks highly of the King of The South. As you probably might have heard, Kid Rock and TI are making good music together. Kid rock stated in an interview:
“I’ve done a track with T.I. called ‘Wanted’. I took him in a very different direction with steel guitars. It’s a very bluesy country-fried vibe. Then we put these big beats on it and he just blazed it.”
Tip and blues? Interesting!
Kid Rock also mentioned about a possible mash-up between his song “Cowboy” and Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive” -understandable considering Kid Rock’s relationship with Bon Jovi where he used to support the band during their residency at London’s O2 Arena. Kid Rock continued:
“Me and Jon (Bon Jovi) had talked about mashing up my song ‘Cowboy’ with Bon Jovi’s ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’. T.I. heard it and really wanted to run with it. But we changed the whole track so there are no elements of those songs, except for the word ‘Wanted’.”
Tip might be down with the rock and bluesy vibe, but he’s also lending his voice to Enrique Iglesias’ sexy song: “I Like It”. Enjoy the summer hit and look for Tip’s contribution… right here.
A few days ago we delivered the news that TI will have ’something’ with Remy Martin Cognac. Now it’s all official, the King of The South will be an official endorser of the cognac and that’s not all… Tip will also be a Global Creative Consultant for the cognac brand. The swanky title came with huge responsibilities such as: having input in the majority of Remy Martin’s lifestyle marketing campaigns which include promotions, merchandising and digital media. TI stated:
“I’ve been a fan of Rémy Martin for many years so I’m honored to be working with them as creative consultant. And now after my trip to Cognac, I admire the brand’s genius even more. I’m excited about all the possibilities of this partnership.”
TI’s co-operation with Remy Martin will help his K.I.N.G. Foundation by providing funds to the non-profit, which helps low income families through a variety of community-oriented programs. TI’s upcoming project with Remy Martin will also include a new signature blend of the cognac, which was developed by TI when he visited the company’s HQ.
After a year and a day of incarceration due to his attempt to purchase illegal guns, TI finally gave a stellar comeback performance.
From his upcoming movie, Takers, the soundtrack “Yeah Ya Know” gave us chills.
There were also great performances by other artists including Chris Brown’s heartfelt (and teary-eyed) tribute to Michael Jackson, Usher’s white-hot performance and many more. But when you’re TI, you steal the show. And speaking of stealing the show, why not steal a whole season with TI’s clothing line: A King Of Oneself (AKOO). Check our editors’ favorites from the newest spring/summer collection, available at DrJays.com:
When you’re a superstar, you’re entitled to get super-exclusive stuff from up and coming designers. This time, accessories designer, Louis Stewart, managed to get TI into joining the super-exclusive Louis Stewart movement. Check the king showing off his own customized Louis Stewart bag and backpack:
And here’s just how exclusive the bags are. Tip got these custom made for him, and we are jealous!
Tip isn’t the only one who joined the Louis Stewart movement. Other celeb who’s a huge fan of the line is Justin Timberlake. And like TI, he got a super-exclusive custom made backpack too.
Don’t you wish you’re a star now? Well these babies have thousands of dollars on their price tags and they’re so exclusive they’re not yet available in stores. Be on the lookout for them at www.louisstewartcollection.com.
On his recent interview with CNN, TI revealed that even though he’s blessed with a gleaming career and a thriving clothing business, AKOO, he won’t stay in the game until he’s 40. He stated:
“I’m not going to be the 40-year-old rapper. I would not. That’s Jay. He’s doing it very well. Hats off, but I just don’t see that for me.”
Tip also said that he prefers to be Will Smith rather than Jay-Z when it comes to future work plans. He also hinted that he’d like to start a new path in acting.
“If I had the option to [be] Jay-Z [or] Will Smith, I think I’d go with Will. I’m a Jay-Z fan. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Jay and his legacy. But I feel like Will, he gets to spend more time with his family. He gets to be home more and actually raise his kids. I feel like he has more of a home life…and the money don’t hurt. Twenty million dollars a flick ain’t bad.”
You hear that, Hollywood? We’ll be prepared to see him on red carpets and probably the Oscars, then. We do think TI will be a success in Tinseltown, but even if he doesn’t make it, he’ll always have AKOO to turn to. The clothing line just came out with a new collection for the summer on DrJays and here are some of our favorites:
Okay, you might wonder what’s up again with the Takers poster this time. Well, after releasing a ‘retro’ poster of the upcoming motion picture “Takers” -starring TI, the folks over at Sony decided to release yet another version of the movie poster. This time, they go back to the original feel: bluish, manly… and very “Takers”. Check it out:
And look who’s back: Chris Brown. Seriously, we feel kinda sorry for the dude because it looks like Brown’s in the middle of some tug-of-war. Some are in favor of him and some are not -wonder why. Well, we still wish him luck.
But enough about Chris Brown. Check out TI’s steez looking all cool and calm with his Cuban cigar right there. And check the tagline. It has been changed again to the original since everybody (at least on the internet) loathed the previous one: “It’s Only A Crime If You Get Caught”. We couldn’t be happier about this.
Tell us, do you like this poster better than the previous version?
