A few days ago we delivered the news that TI will have ‘something’ with Remy Martin Cognac. Now it’s all official, the King of The South will be an official endorser of the cognac and that’s not all… Tip will also be a Global Creative Consultant for the cognac brand. The swanky title came with huge responsibilities such as: having input in the majority of Remy Martin’s lifestyle marketing campaigns which include promotions, merchandising and digital media. TI stated:
“I’ve been a fan of Rémy Martin for many years so I’m honored to be working with them as creative consultant. And now after my trip to Cognac, I admire the brand’s genius even more. I’m excited about all the possibilities of this partnership.”
TI’s co-operation with Remy Martin will help his K.I.N.G. Foundation by providing funds to the non-profit, which helps low income families through a variety of community-oriented programs. TI’s upcoming project with Remy Martin will also include a new signature blend of the cognac, which was developed by TI when he visited the company’s HQ.
After a year and a day of incarceration due to his attempt to purchase illegal guns, TI finally gave a stellar comeback performance.
From his upcoming movie, Takers, the soundtrack “Yeah Ya Know” gave us chills.
There were also great performances by other artists including Chris Brown’s heartfelt (and teary-eyed) tribute to Michael Jackson, Usher’s white-hot performance and many more. On his recent interview with CNN, TI revealed that even though he’s blessed with a gleaming career and a thriving clothing business, AKOO, he won’t stay in the game until he’s 40. He stated:
“I’m not going to be the 40-year-old rapper. I would not. That’s Jay. He’s doing it very well. Hats off, but I just don’t see that for me.”
Tip also said that he prefers to be Will Smith rather than Jay-Z when it comes to future work plans. He also hinted that he’d like to start a new path in acting.
“If I had the option to [be] Jay-Z [or] Will Smith, I think I’d go with Will. I’m a Jay-Z fan. I have a lot of admiration and respect for Jay and his legacy. But I feel like Will, he gets to spend more time with his family. He gets to be home more and actually raise his kids. I feel like he has more of a home life…and the money don’t hurt. Twenty million dollars a flick ain’t bad.”
You hear that, Hollywood? We’ll be prepared to see him on red carpets and probably the Oscars, then. We do think TI will be a success in Tinseltown, but even if he doesn’t make it, he’ll always have AKOO to turn to. Okay, you might wonder what’s up again with the Takers poster this time. Well, after releasing a ‘retro’ poster of the upcoming motion picture “Takers” -starring TI, the folks over at Sony decided to release yet another version of the movie poster. This time, they go back to the original feel: bluish, manly… and very “Takers”. Check it out:
And look who’s back: Chris Brown. Seriously, we feel kinda sorry for the dude because it looks like Brown’s in the middle of some tug-of-war. Some are in favor of him and some are not -wonder why. Well, we still wish him luck.
But enough about Chris Brown. Check out TI’s steez looking all cool and calm with his Cuban cigar right there. And check the tagline. It has been changed again to the original since everybody (at least on the internet) loathed the previous one: “It’s Only A Crime If You Get Caught”. We couldn’t be happier about this.

The King of The South is a term often discussed as copying. In the July issue of XXL Magazine, TI finally speaks up and brushes off the copycat rumors. Printed boldly on the cover is TI’s statement regarding the matter:
“The King of the South did not exist before me. The term cannot be passe along unless I choose to pass it along.”
Aside from looking really fine, Tip also talked about his recent photoshoot for his album cover:
“I’m known as ‘the King.’ Although it’s disputed by some, concurred by most, there ain’t no disputing that lion–that is what it is. So I went and told them, ‘Get me as close as you can to a lion.’ He had a trainer holding him on a chain. They took the chain out [in post-work]. It really went down. I wanted to pet him. I said, ‘Let me get hands on.’ They were like, ‘No. We could only let you do but so much.’ So I did as much as they would allow me to do…I figured we had to do some kind of slick and meaningful imagery to say the obvious without doing the obvious. I tried to flip it as much as I could. I wanted it to be a a busy city street. My original idea was to lock down Times Square and let me and the lion do the same thing right there, but we couldn’t quite pull that off; they said it had to be in controlled environment. They tried to a artsy kind of drawing. It looked good, but it didn’t serve my purpose–it was just a painting. I figured, if it got to be a controlled environment, we may as well just keep it all the way simple make it black and white, white background, me, him, cool chair.”
Tip also expressed how fed up he is with ‘muthaf-ckas and suckas’ and snitching rumors to get lighter time in the upcoming edition of XXL Magazine:
“What people don’t take into consideration is the reason that I was eligible for certain agreements that they weren’t eligible for was because I made myself a useful member of society. Most muthafuckas catch cases and get time. My nigga, you wasn’t doing shit when you was out here, so wasn’t no reason for them to keep you out here. Please understand the G code that I learned from, if you speak out your mouth that a muthafucka is telling on somebody and you can’t come with indisputable, irrefutable facts to support that statement, that makes you the sucker. You are now in violation of the G code. And there ain’t nobody, nowhere in naan jail sayin’ I was on they paperwork.”
These past few weeks the media has been covering TI’s every move. From one talkshow to another, and from one behind-the-scenes video to another. Tip has been busy working on his upcoming album: “King Uncaged”, also promoting his upcoming flick “Takers”. That, we all know. But there’s a new gig for the King and this time it involves alcohol and yes, you guessed it right: good times.
TI announced that he’s going to be the face of Remy Martin cognac. Tip mentioned his recent trip to Cognac, France, to Atlanta’s V-103 radio station, where he apparently went to put ‘finishing touches’ on the deal. There’s still no further or official news from the French liquor company on this, but hey, if the King is considered a better face for the product than previously-approached Remy-Ma (note the similarity on the name), then we’ll definitely drink to that!
To those who are waiting anxiously for TI’s upcoming album, “King Uncaged”, here’s a sneak peek on what to look for in the CD store. You might know the King’s music, but you don’t necessarily know the CD cover. So here goes:
Photographed with a real-life lion, Tip said: “I am trying to outdo everything that I’ve done”. The album will probably feature Tip’s collaborations with Lady Gaga and Eminem, also the song from Tip’s upcoming movie, “Takers” and the duet with Keri Hilson: “Got Your Back” which tells the story of TI’s love for Tiny.
Both Tip’s album and movie will drop at August 17th.

Okay, this is kinda weird, because we thought the whole Chris Brown debacle on whether he’s going to be included in the Takers promotional material is over. But apparently, TI’s upcoming movie has made a major change in its promo poster. Check it out and see of you can find Breezy.
Nothing? That’s because he’s not in it. Even the tagline “Everyone’s After Something” has been changed into “It’s Only A Crime If You Get Caught”. Chris Brown isn’t the only one taken out of the poster, Michael Ealy is also out of the picture. Word is, the whole change is made by the folks at Screen Gems to respond to the change of the movie’s original May 15th release date to August 20th.
We know most of you probably don’t really care as long as your King, TI is still there. Well, that’s why we post the poster anyway. LOL.
