The King of the South is on the roll promoting a lot of things these days. He has an album coming up, a clothing line -AKOO, that is, which will launch its Fall / Winter 2010 collection soon, and also a major motion picture, “Takers” on the pipeline. And don’t forget about the secret upcoming wedding!
For a guy who’s just out of prison, TI is very busy, and here’s one of his recent interviews with Angie Martinez on Hot 97 Radio. Yes, we couldn’t resist putting this up because we know you can never have too much of TI.
TI talked about his new album, the movie Takers, summer jam and much more stuff. But one thing caught our eyes: is that a new AKOO cardigan? Can’t wait for it to drop next season!

Right. Now we’re just wondering: is he going to dedicate this to Tiny on their upcoming wedding?
TI’s people have been working real hard to get the King’s popularity back -as if it’s ever gone anyway. But we couldn’t be happier seeing Tip almost everywhere, doing interviews and photoshoots for his AKOO clothing line. But here’s a special treat for you: TI sits down with his old buddy, actor Jamie Foxx -whom he collaborated with on “Live in The Sky”, and gave an interview, talking about how he got into trouble and such.
TI also talked about his fiancee’s reality show: “Tiny and Toya” on BET, the danger of being famous and of course, about being an old-school guy who’s away from Twitter. Gotta tell you, this interview is one of a kind, and although we enjoyed the interview he did with Larry King, this is the one we truly enjoy.
TI talked about his clothing line in the middle of his AKOO Fall/Winter 2010 collection photoshoot recently and apparently the stuff he talked about in the video weren’t the only things he wants his AKOO fans to know. The photoshoot took place at the Ace Hotel in Manhattan, and there’s a concept behind that. WomensWearDaily reported that TI actually envisioned his clothing line as a way for the boys to get some lovin’… even if it’s a three-way situation.
“We wanted to re-create the scenes and scenarios that a young, distinguished man of leisure would find himself in. I’m not going to say that these clothes will get you two or three women in a hotel room, but men have been known to wear these clothes in that situation.”

And it’s gonna be even hotter for you, TI fans, because the King of the South will not only be releasing his newest album “King Uncaged”, he will also launch his movie “Takers” this coming August.
Yes, the King of The South is indeed back, not only via his music, he also talks about his clothing line, AKOO. In an interview with MTV, TI revealed his plans for AKOO:
“The direction of the clothing line, in my eyes, is upscale urban apparel. I just wanna continue to diversify. Continue to grow. Continue to speak to the cool kids of America. That’s my idealistic outcome.”
MTV caught Tip in the middle of his exclusive photo shoot for his upcoming Fall 2010 collection with guest, Donnis. He also highlighted what’s to come from the brand:
“It’s all gonna be comfortable. Everything is gonna be comfortable, casual. To me, we got V-neck tees, crew-neck tees, wovens. Denim is a big part of the lines. We actually pride ourselves on the quality of our denim, especially at the price point we at. We got fleece. We got a lot of imagery, distinctive imagery on our pieces, that sets us apart from everything else going on out there.”

Both gentlemen look dashing. We got a sneaky suspicion that Larry King was given some AKOO stuff, and we were right. Sandrarose.com reported today that Larry did receive a bunch of AKOO stuff, including a pair of jeans, an AKOO sweater AND… Larry actually used this one immediately:

As you know, Tip was imprisoned last year under illegal purchase of weapons charges and was released to a halfway house in Atlanta in December 2009 before finally announced as a free man back in March. In case you haven’t noticed, Larry King didn’t use his usual intimidating ‘journo’ style when talking to Tip. Guess he knew that there’s no messing with Tip when it comes to what’s important in his life: fiancee Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, his kids and Grand Hustle business.
TI talked about his prison time, early career, and basically re-introduced himself to his fans. The former straight-A student had troubles in his past, but now is a new beginning. Tip is currently working on his new upcoming abum: “King Uncaged”.

Been waiting for a TI concert? Well, word is that at the end of this May, TI will give one of his major performances in Miami during Memorial Day weekend. This will mark TI’s major performance since his release from the halfway house in Atlanta back in March, after serving a year in prison for an illegal possession and attempting to purchase machine guns in 2007.
Watch out for Tip’s performance as he’s scheduled to rock Miami on Sunday, May 30th at Klutch Nightclub, formerly known as Opium/Prive via “The Return of The King” Memorial Day Weekend Extravaganza!
