TI’s Best Friend’s Murder Conspirator Pleaded Guilty

Author: AkooEditor  //  Category: TI News

Philant - TI

Looks like the murder case of TI’s best friend, Philant Johnson, is showing that justice is indeed being served.

A couple of months ago, Hosea Thomas who shot TI’s best friend and personal assistant, Philant Johnson, back in 2006 was sentenced to 66 years to life for the shooting and will not be eligible for parole until year 2074.

Last Wednesday, Padron Thomas, who was the driver of the opposing vehicle, pleaded guilty to manslaughter. The 41-year-old was initially charged with murder, but received a lesser sentence after testifying against his brother. Currently Thomas is serving 17years on unrelated federal drug charges and is looking to up to 10 years in prison, depending on the outcome of the sentencing hearing on November 17th.

The 2006 shooting took the life of Philant Johnson and left three people injured. The incident happened after a fight at a Cincinnati club, as TI and his entourage fled the scene and went on being chased down and their cars bombarded with bullets.

Rest In Peace, Philant Johnson.

Following the death of Ashley “AJ” Jewell, or Kandi Burrus’ fiancee, TI urges his fiancee, Tiny, to stay close to home to prevent becoming a target. AJ was killed in a fight erupted in an Atlanta strip club, earlier this month. Tiny, who happens to be Kandi Burrus’ bandmate in the 90’s all-female group, Xscape, dished her conversation with TI to AllHipHop.com.

“I talk to him about a little of everything, just things going on. He hears things and we talk about it. He wants me to stay out the way, me being out of harm’s way. I know it’s a lot of crazy things going on so I try to stay in as much as possible because I don’t have him here. So I come out only when it’s necessary. I stay out the way. But he even said it was a terrible situation that AJ had to lose his life like that. Him not knowing the situation and what’s going on he really can’t speak on it.”

Good to know they’re connecting although apart. Tiny even said that Tip takes care of Grand Hustle business from prison.

“He’s doing good. He’s passing the time by working out and just doing things they do inside, you know. He’s playing handball and things like that. I go see him every Sunday, sometimes on Mondays. We talk everyday. He gets emails, working out and doing things like that so he’s busy in there. He has a full schedule.”

TI will be released from prison on March 26, 2010. However, his AKOO Clothing line just released its newest collection for the season, and here are our favorites:

BET TI

So TI wasn’t the only one absent from this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards, his pal Kanye West also failed to make an appearance. At least TI was absent for a reason. He’s still paying his dues in prison, and sent Tiny, his fiancee to receive the Best Hip Hop Collaboration for his duet with Rihanna in single “Live Your Life” and was honored with Album of the Year for his latest album “Paper Trail”.

Tiny read a letter written by Tip, saying, “Although I’m not there with you all, I’m there in spirit. My road to redemption is almost over. … Thanks for the support.”

Daddy TI might be away, but sons King and Major hang out with their mom, Tiny everyday and they look supercute.

King n Major

Tiny posted these pics on her Twitter page today and apparently, they did more than just hangin’ out and took pictures. Look how fly and handsome King looked and turns out he’s not only fly from the front.  Check out his new hair cut.

TI and Ludacris Donated $10,000 For Atlanta Flood Victims

Author: AkooEditor  //  Category: TI News

Sometimes we wonder how TI does all these cool things from behind bars. You know, throw Tiny, his fiance, a posh birthday party, win his first Moon Man MTV Video Music Award, even topping the Billboard chart!  But we don’t wonder much because he has all these people who work for him and get things done.

TI and Luda

Now Tip’s doing good deeds from jail. He and Ludacris are showing their support for the victims of the recent Atlanta flood, which was caused by 8 days of steady rain. Both TI and Luda donated $10,000 to The Ludacris Foundation to help the flood victims whose homes have been wrecked by the flood. Mind you, there are 500 homes affected by the disaster, which caused damages estimated around $61 million.

The Ludacris Foundation has teamed up with Home Depot and Sam’s Club to help those who lost their homes. The foundation is planning a local weekend food bank.

Somehow we could see TI and Luda joining hands in person, going down straight to Atlanta’s disaster spot and help the people. Don’t you wish Tip was here? Well done on the philanthropic act, TI!
